1 whole chicken (about 1.5 kg) or 800g chicken thighs

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon

6 eggs
For the Almond Filling
250g blanched almonds
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon orange blossom water

10โ12 sheets warqa pastry or phyllo dough
100g melted butter

Step 1: Cook the Chicken
In a large pot, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
Add the onions and cook until softened.
Place the chicken in the pot and add ginger, turmeric, saffron, black pepper, cinnamon, salt, parsley, and cilantro.
Cover and cook for approximately 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken becomes tender.
Remove the chicken and allow it to cool.
Once cooled, shred the meat and discard the bones and skin.
